The Episcopal Academy Parents’ Association

From the EAPA President:

The Episcopal Academy Parents’ Association had an incredibly successful year. We were thrilled to continue all of our traditional events and committees, and we were able to add a few new ones. We kicked off the school year with our second annual Family Fun Night. The Fall Book Fair was a huge success and we hosted a wonderful Harvest Day that included our first-ever pumpkin patch. We had an amazing EA/AIS/Haverford Weekend with a Spirit Week and Bonfire to remember.

We were delighted to have our holiday events on campus and in person. We had a fantastic Christmas Tree Lighting event and cookie contest, followed by the always fun Gingerbread House Decorating Party. We continued to build community and promote school spirit with a Winter Spirit event to celebrate our athletes as well as the return of the ever-popular Bake Sale. We were excited to continue our community outreach efforts with our MLK Day of Service. In March we held our hugely successful Starfest Casino and Game Night in The Dixon Athletic Center.

This spring we focused our efforts on health and wellness by offering CPR classes and hosting our first Family Fun Run. We had a great time at the Spring Fashion Show and we were so happy to have our EAPA luncheon at Lowry House. Finally, we celebrated the Class of 2023 and their families with a record-breaking 780 attendees for the Graduation Dinner in The Dixon Athletic Center Competition Gym.

The support of the Episcopal Academy community has been tremendous in both volunteerism and financial generosity. Despite the challenges of increased costs and inflation, the EAPA was able to raise $247,000. After allocating for the 2023-24 EAPA Operating Budget, the EAPA Executive Committee voted to distribute $80,000 equally among the EAPA Endowment Fund and the EAPA Cares Family Fund. The remaining $105,000 was donated to EA as an unrestricted gift.

Thank you to our parents, teachers, staff, class/form parents, committee members, and volunteers for all that you did to make the 2022-23 year so successful. It has truly been my honor and privilege to serve as the EAPA President. I wish Whitney Murphy all the best as EAPA President for the 2023-24 school year.

Sincerely,

Mary Beredjiklian P '25 '26
